About the Artist

Calvin Newland was born and raised in Escondido, CA. He studied art in high school and went on to earn a BFA in drawing and painting at the Laguna College of Art and Design, later focusing on printmaking with his mentor Michael L Jacques. He has apprenticed as a teacher's aide for multiple years assisting high school students in the process of portfolio development as wells as college students in printmaking and materials. Calvin continues to create as much as possible while supporting a family and working in Parks and Recreation.
